Max Verstappen has called on the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) to review the new 2026 Formula 1 rules after strong criticism from several drivers following the season-opening race.
The new regulations introduced major changes to both the car design and power units, with a bigger focus on electric power and battery management during races.
Verstappen said these changes force drivers to use unusual driving techniques, such as managing energy in ways that feel unnatural and less focused on pure racing.
He also noted that many drivers share the same concerns and that the criticism is not coming from him alone.
The four-time world champion said he hopes the FIA listens to the feedback and takes action to improve the rules so that Formula 1 racing becomes more enjoyable again.
Verstappen even suggested that continued dissatisfaction with the regulations could affect his future in the sport if things do not improve.
