Cadillac made its first appearance in Formula 1 at the Australian Grand Prix, marking the team’s historic entry as a new competitor on the grid.
The weekend was challenging for the new team, but simply finishing the race was considered an important achievement for a debut event.
Driver Sergio Perez managed to reach the checkered flag, although he finished in 16th place and three laps behind the race winner.
His teammate Valtteri Bottas had a more difficult race and had to retire early after the team decided to stop the car to protect the power unit.
Despite the tough result, team officials said the debut weekend still exceeded expectations because the team gained valuable experience and avoided major mistakes.
Cadillac now plans to focus on improving performance and closing the gap to the front teams as the 2026 Formula 1 season continues.
