McLaren driver Lando Norris says the new 2026 Formula 1 car feels more like a Formula 2 car compared to current F1 cars.
He explained that the way the car responds and its behaviour on track remind him more of F2 machinery, meaning it handles differently than past F1 cars.
Norris’ comment reflects how much the new technical rules and design changes for 2026 have altered the driving experience.
Even though it’s early in testing and teams are still developing their cars, he thinks this initial feeling shows just how big the difference is between the new F1 cars and what drivers were used to before.
