Höllbacher Claims First Title

Lukas Höllbacher enjoyed a standout season in 2025, securing his first-ever S1GP SuperMoto World Championship. Alongside his individual success, he also helped Team Austria win the SuperMoto of Nations, lifting the prestigious Francesco Zerbi Trophy. His championship triumph was confirmed after penalties handed to his main rival, former champion Marc-Reiner Schmidt, which reshaped the title fight.

Höllbacher faced strong competition from France’s Steve Bonnal during the final stages of the season. However, victories in the last two rounds in Italy and Belgium allowed the Austrian rider to pull clear and finish the championship with a 26-point lead over Bonnal, who ended the season as runner-up.

With his recent results removed due to sanctions, Schmidt dropped to third overall, ending his run of four consecutive world titles.

With this achievement, Höllbacher joins an elite group in SuperMoto history, becoming only the third rider to hold both the S1GP World Championship and the SuperMoto of Nations title at the same time, a feat previously achieved only by Thomas and Adrien Chareyre.
