In a dramatic finish at Phoenix Raceway, Kyle Larson captured his second NASCAR Cup Series championship despite never leading a single lap throughout the race.
A late caution triggered overtime and allowed Larson, who opted for a two‑tire change on the final pit stop, to surge into a podium finish and snatch the title away from Denny Hamlin.
Hamlin had dominated most of the race but was unable to recover, ultimately finishing sixth and settling for runner‑up.
Meanwhile, Ryan Blaney won the race itself after a last‑corner pass on Brad Keselowski, becoming one of only a few drivers to take the victory without being in championship contention.
