Verstappen Deserved F1 Penalty

Former F1 driver Martin Brundle criticised Max Verstappen’s driving during the Mexico GP, describing it as careless and unnecessary.

He stated that Verstappen “made no effort whatsoever” to keep his car on track while navigating Turns 1 to 3, putting both himself and other drivers at risk.

Brundle argued that Verstappen’s actions were reckless enough to warrant a harsh penalty, such as a drive-through, which would have been an appropriate consequence given the level of danger involved.

While some observers believe Verstappen did not technically break any rules, Brundle emphasized that his behaviour was still unsafe and should have been punished to maintain fairness and safety on the track.

The incident sparked debate over how strictly F1 should enforce penalties for risky driving, especially when championship positions are at stake.
