Russell’s Mercedes Contract Delayed

George Russell’s contract renewal with Mercedes for the 2026 F1 season has been delayed as negotiations continue over his off-track commitments.

Russell is reportedly seeking to reduce the number of public relations and promotional duties required by the team, which has slowed the finalization of his deal.

Despite the delay, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has expressed strong confidence in Russell’s future with the team, emphasizing that he is considered their “number-one driver.”

Talks are ongoing, but it is expected that an agreement will be reached before the start of the next season.
