FIM Board Reviews 2025 Plans

The FIM Board of Directors met for the fourth time this year on 3 December 2025 at the FIM headquarters, just before the General Assembly, the opening of the Racing Motorcycle Museum, and the FIM Awards on 5–6 December in Switzerland.

During the meeting, the Board discussed several key areas:

Sports:
They reviewed all racing disciplines, focusing on QuadCross, Enduro, E-Bike Enduro, MotoE, and the Bagger World Cup. They also talked about future Intercontinental Games and approved updated classes and categories for world championships. A new FIM Sporting Trophy was considered.

Finance:
The 2025 year-end financial forecast was presented, and the Board agreed on updated grants and subsidies for continental unions (CONUs).

Affiliations:
They discussed expelling Korea (KMF) and Paraguay (FEPAM), and the possible affiliation of new Korean and Paraguayan federations, which will be decided by the General Assembly. The situation of Maldives’ federation was reviewed.

Relations with National Federations:
Updates were shared on cooperation projects with national federations and continental unions.

Racing Motorcycle Museum:
A presentation showed the progress of renovation work and the content of the new museum. Details of the grand opening—attended by champions, officials, and industry figures—were shared. The first-ever FIM Hall of Fame induction will also happen during the event.

Marketing & Digital:
The Board reviewed data from promotional activities for TrialGP, Flat Track, Six Days, and Ice Speedway. They also discussed FIM-Moto.TV’s 2025 growth strategy and upcoming digital plans for year-end events.

Commissions:
Eric De Seynes (FFM) was appointed Director of the Classic Motorcycles Commission.

Rules & Codes:
Updates to the Statutes, Sporting Code, calendar, and licence fees were approved for submission to the General Assembly. Changes to the Medical Code and new concussion guidelines for rider safety were also approved.

International Foundation of Motorcycling:
The agenda for the 7 December meeting was shared, focusing on approving the 2026 budget. No IFM Beyond Sport Trophy will be awarded this year.

General Assemblies & Awards:
Progress reports on the 2025 and 2026 General Assemblies and FIM Awards (in Switzerland and Monaco) were provided.

FIM Commissions Conference:
Plans for the 2026 Commissions Conference in Lyon were presented.

Finally, CONU Presidents, committees, working groups, and administrative departments shared updates on their ongoing projects.
